The Cirque du Soleil Shop, located at the entrance of the Cirque du Soleil Theatre in Walt Disney World’s West Side District, is the first commercial establishment reserved exclusively for the sale of Cirque’s merchandise. The purity of the triangular and circular shapes, the vibrant primary colors, the backdrop and the three masts in the centre are constant reminders of the touring big top and the Cirque’s origin.
Outstanding features
The furnishings, all custom-built, were inspired by various touring accessories. For example, the changing room is a replica of one of the smaller tents that accompanies a big top ou tour and some of the products are displayed in touring crates.
All materials are of the highest quality, well thought0out and extremely colourful. All merchandise is displayed directly on the walls, therefore none of the walls are straight. The round cash counter sits alone at the centre of the central area. This airy design allows customers to flow freely in the sore and have easy access to the merchandise.
The “High Tech” wall is covered in television monitors simultaneously featuring various Cirque du Soleil performances. The monitors, supported by arms, give the impression of being suspended in mid-air. Scéno Plus developed a theatrical lighting concept for the shop in order to recreate a spectacular spirit. The lighting system is flexible and can easily be readjusted whenever products are repositioned.
